Splash Mountain" is the most famous attraction at Tokyo Disneyland.
Splash Mountain is a "water ride" attraction based on the Disney film "Song of the South.
The "powerful plunge into the waterfall" at the end of the attraction has a reputation for being "thrilling," and it is often mentioned as a popular attraction at Disneyland.
Actually, in addition to Tokyo Disneyland, there used to be Splash Mountain at the Disneyland Resort in California and the Walt Disney World Resort in Florida. However, the two U.S. locations have since been discontinued, and Splash Mountain can now only be enjoyed in Japan.
In this article, Splash. Mountain was discontinued and whether there are any plans to discontinue Splash Mountain at Tokyo Disneyland.
Why was Splash Mountain discontinued?
Splash Mountain is a unique thrill ride where visitors ride a log boat and wait with baited breath for the final "plunge" into a waterfall.
It was known as a popular attraction in Japan and the U.S. because it offers a different thrill than other attractions at Disneyland.
I wasn't good at screaming as a child, so I had a hard time climbing Splash Mountain, which makes you tense to the extreme.

It was the movie "Song of the South," which serves as the motif, that led to the discontinuation of "Splash Mountain" in the United States.
Songs of the South is a 1946 Disney feature film that has been criticized for "misrepresenting black history." The film is often criticized as such.
Despite being set in a time of great discrimination against blacks, the film has been controversial for its storyline, which depicts a black man who is believed to be a former slave, who is happy and on equal footing with rich white people.
As more and more voices raise concerns about the controversial subject matter of "Song of the South," Disney, as part of its efforts to advance diversity considerations, has announced that the popular "Splash Mountain" attraction at Walt Disney World, Fla. closing on January 23, 2023.
It is now operating as a new attraction, "Tiana's Bayou Adventure," based on the movie "The Princess and the Magic Kiss."
Although the interior and other features have changed as a result of the renovation, the 15-meter drop into the waterfall basin is still there, delighting many visitors.
Disneyland's Splash Mountain in California will also be renovated into "Tiana's Bayou Adventure" in November 2024.
Now, only Tokyo Disneyland in Japan can enjoy Splash Mountain.

Will Splash Mountain in Japan be renewed?
Since Splash Mountain in California and Florida have been renewed, there are rumors that Splash Mountain at Tokyo Disneyland will also be discontinued. However, no official announcement has been made regarding the renewal or discontinuation of Splash Mountain at Tokyo Disneyland.
Although there was much criticism of the movie "Song of the South" in the U.S., there were few protests in Japan, and the fact that "Oriental Land," which operates Disneyland in Japan, and the American company "Walt Disney Co. " which operates Disneyland in Japan and Walt Disney Co. in the U.S., do not have a capital relationship.
Although there is no possibility that Splash Mountain in Japan will be renewed in the future, it is said that it will not be discontinued or renewed anytime soon, so those who "want to experience Splash Mountain! If you want to experience Splash Mountain, you should visit Tokyo Disneyland.
