GeoGuessr is a location-guessing game that was created in 2013 by Swedish software engineer Anton Wallén, using Google Street View.

STEP 1. Download the App
To start playing the smartphone app version of “GeoGuessr“, you first need to download the app.

STEP 2. Game Preparation
When you open the app, click “PLAY” in the middle of the screen.
If you plan to make in-app purchases, it’s a good idea to select “SIGN IN” and register an account.
When you see a map-like screen, tap the square that is glowing.
STEP 3. Play
Press the “PLAY” button to start the game.
When you start, you can check out the surroundings by swiping the screen.
The controls are almost the same as Google Maps Street View.
There is also a simple tutorial for first-time players, so you should be able to understand it quickly.
When you are ready to guess the location, swipe up on the map at the bottom of the screen to make it full screen.
Drag the pin to the map. The difference between your guessed location and the actual location will be shown.
You have three attempts to place the pin, and your rating will be up to “3 stars” depending on how close your closest pin is.
As long as you get at least one star, you can move on to the next stage. The goal of the app is to repeat this and advance to higher levels.
Each play uses one ticket, as shown in the top left corner. You can’t play more than six times in a row. You’ll need to wait for your tickets to recover.
This is a different system from the web browser version. It is designed more like a smartphone app game.
